This is first update for my latest wordpress theme and judging by the number of emails and requests for feature post slider, this should be implemented in original theme version. I agree with you. I wanted to do something cool, but I was limited by time and other projects.

Well, it’s best you see for yourself what I implemented in this theme. This demo shows filmstrip navigation of featured posts in highlight area. What it doesn’t show is complete customization from wp administration.
How do I customize it? Let’s look in ‘Theme Options’.
Little clarification for this options.
- Post/page Highlight IDs: enter ID of post(s) you want to display on homepage and separate them by commas
- Highlight background color: enter color of filmstrip background (Example: #333333)
- Highlight overlay color: enter color of overlay panel (Example: #000000)
- Highlight opacity: enter opacity overlay panel (values between 0.1 and 1.0)
- Highlight animation: choose animation style (no animation, slider, filmstrip)
- Filmstrip Thumbnail width: filmstrip thumbnail width (only with filmstrip animation)
- Filmstrip Thumbnail height: filmstrip thumbnail height (only with filmstrip animation)
- Filmstrip Thumbnail count: how many thumbnails should be seen (only with filmstrip animation)
Important
This feature uses TimThumb to resize pictures and requires the GD library, which is available on any host sever with PHP 4.3+ installed. Once installed and in-use, TimThumb will automatically create a /cache/ subfolder with proper write-permissions. If your host server doesn’t allow this by default, be sure to manually create /cache/ folder in your theme’s root directory and set permissions to 777.
