I heard about Shopify a year ago but never had time to explore it properly. When ThemeForest come to an agreement with Shopify.com to distribute e-commerce templates and started a competition I decided ‘create’ some free time and introduce myself to this application.
I downloaded Vision, a free tool for designers which helps you create your own shop theme by providing you with a test database and on the fly visualization.
Shopify User Community was my starting point and it was quite helpful.
I recommend reading all tutorials.
As for design layout, I used the one I was preparing as my new wordpress theme. I made some modifications, slice it, shopify it, named it FancyPink and uploaded it to TF.
